FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES
of the selection of the Wellington team: for the New Zealand championships at Christchurch on Marcli 10 and 11 is to be.given by the executive of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre after the twilight .sports meeting at the Basin Reserve this evening. The size of the team hinges upon the funds available, and as the estimated costr for each individual is £5 it is likely tHat the personnel. of the team will have to be limited, unless frdny the special -picture entertainment at the ;De" Lus** THeatre tomorrow night and from: .other sources further sums are forthcoming. -On" their form on Saturday P; Slunro, T ; Crowe,- L Driscoll, C. It is understood that J". ."W. ;McMolm, the hammer thrower, is :-mUing to pay his own expenses, and that arrangements will be made by the Athletic Club toy send M; Cooke, winner of the" three miles championship. She-will compete at. tonight's sports meeting and also at the electric light meeting on the Basin Reserve on Saturday night next. Another I outstanding competitor at the electric light meeting will be A. J. Elliot; New Zealand sprint, champion and Olympic Games_ representative. As a further attraction there will be an interhous* ladies'_ relay racey for which to date th» following teams have been entered:-— Messrs, W. D. and HLQ. Wills, Woolworths /(N.Z.),' Ltd., Messrs.
