RONGOTAI CADETS
"BARRACKS" CONCLUDE
1) Company, Rongotai College Cadets, practised attack operations yesterday afternoon, the objective being the top end of Lyall Bay reserve. The "barracks" started on Monday, and ended yesterday afternoon. Yesterday morning Colonel Jl. Symon inspected the unit, and expressed himself as being very pleased with it. Yesterday thirtyfour boys went to Trentham to complete their training in the use of Lewis guns. During the week fifty boys were at Port Dorset undergoing training in signalling, gunnery, and range-finding. At the final parade yesterday Captain Sugden, area officer, said the "barracks" had been the best conducted by a secondary school lie had ever befin associated with, and he congratulated the boys on the fine spirit they had shown. Major E. M. Christie, who was in charge of the "barracks," espjesses his gratitude to the staff for the fine work put in during the "barracks/ "'" : -.j
