PALMERSTON N., February 24. j Provided certain guarantees he has \ asked for are satißfactorily arranged, the well-known jockey Roy Reed will leave for California by the first available boat, under contract to ride Mr; B. J. Davis's horses, Pillow Fight and Tea Trader, at I Aqua Caliente and in other American engagements. Yester.day the Auckland agent of Mr. Davis telegraphed to Reed asking him if he would consider going to America, and whether he would leave for San Francisco by the first boat; Reed replied stating the terms under which he would be prepared to make the trip, and is now awaiting further information from Auckland.
