PAUL PRY

Paul Pry was a very,, very tiny gnome who would peep and peer and poke his noso into all kinds of places where ho was not meant to go at all. Ho was always very fond of creeping into Dame Durden's wee brown .house, and thuic, quite unseen, watching all kinds of things sue did. Ho liked to see her feed Pussy, and knit away in her high chair, and make tea at her little round table- beside the fire. How ho longed to drink out of that sweet little blue-and-white teacup of Dame Burden's! One day, as Dame Durden was drinking her tea, sho was called away out of the house. No sooner was her back I turned than Paul Pry scrambled up to the table, tilted the edge of the enp toward him, and sipped the tea. But, oh dear! Paul was very tiny, and how big ami heavy the cup seemed! All at onco it toppled over as he tried to hold it, and fell with-a crash .on the floor. Pry rushed homo, too much afraid to go near Damo Durden's house again. And to this day she does not know who broke her best bluc-and-white china cup. I am afraid sho thinks it was Pussy! •' round, "by "EIVEK ELF' (9). Miramar,
