A mcc easy track "will be provided foi the opening day tomorrow of the Auckland' Trotting Club's Autumn Meeting, to bo held a<LAlexandra Park., Good fields lshoultf_funnsh spine excellent contests The fixture will be brought to a conclusion next Wednesday. .-Arrangements for the now popular to-and-plnce system of totahsatoi betting ■have, been made by the club Ihe field in the main evedt, the Otahuhu Handicap, is up to the usual standaid, both in numbeis and quality, nine possible runneis ensuung a tiue-iun race with a mfnimuin of interference. Six are from piovmcial stables and two from Addmgton,~the other being fiom Nelson There are half a dozen hoises on the limit and it would seem as if this lot will have a. good deal m their favour. Fust Plight showed up at the Chustmas Meeting, and Kelpies Guy appeals to be getting b.u.k to form. A GOOD BRACKET. Bucketed with Kewpie's Guy is Pageant, who also shaped ,piomismgly at the last meeting at Epsom, and he is working ,-well. Kewpie's Triumph cm stay, but up to the present Eis foite has been sprinting. Raydue is an improving pacer that will be m request, and there w the, ponified Silver de.Oro, a fine peiiormer, who may start favourite on Satmday. Wilma Dillon has had many tries to win at Epsom and failed. There has been a good deal of rain in Auckland over the past fortnight, and that will make the going nice and mellow. This will suit Peter Pirate, and as he finished third in the last Auckland Gup it looks as if'what beats him will nearly Wln- ' Auto .Machine will have to show a return to form before northerners will be on'his side, although they'have not forgotten h.w previous brilliant performances on this course. It, is an evenlybalanced field, in which Peter Pirate and Pageant are well fancied over Silver de Oro and Kewpie's Triumph. x ' >, AN .OPEN SPRINT. Eight <o£ the nine "in the Otahuhu Handicap also figure in the second teg, the Moss Davis Memorial Handicap, and they should play a prominent pait in the deciswn. Prt viously the forward runnmg in the big handicap has proved a direct pointer to tbis event. Of the eight others engaged in the sprint the best may be Brentlignt, Great Painsh, and Carniu. Trainer l<. J. bmith appears to hold the key to the- situation with his string of three Uirnui, Pageant, and Kewpie's Guv. Each one of this biacLeted trio is capable ol fully extending anything else m the r,ace, but they will have something to do to actually beat Great Parrish and Jirenthght, who read very well indeed Gieat Parrish won the last Auckland Cup and now he is taking on the spiint so as to escape a penalty for the big event on the second day. Brentlight is m the same box, and this pair may prov# to be the best, with Great Parrish rather standing out and whichever Smith starts as next mi ° f^enthght for the minor placing? mi 2? minor events have died very well all through.
