THE ASSOCIATED CHAMBERS

A VIGOROUS PROTEST

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, February 15. The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce tonight passed the following resolution:— "That this chamber records a vigorous protest against the action of the Associated Chambers of Commerce . in issuing pronouncements on important policy matters without first consulting this and presumably other affiliated chambers and obtaining their views." The view was expressed that the executive of the Associated Chambers was taking too much on itself altogether, and should consult the affiliated chambers before issuing policy statements. The opinion was also voiced that the Associated Chambers had interested importers and business men only at heart, and that they were not prepared to go beyond that for the benefit of the whole community.
