The first oil-eleatric train :to run'on a British main line to strict express schedule timing travelled between London and Birmingham, on the Lon-don-Midland and Scottish line, today. It covered the journey of 113 miles in just over two hours. - The train is fitted with a 150 brake horse-power Armstrong-Whitworth Diesel electric motor. This is a self-con-tained unit, generating its own electric power from an oil engine. It is capable of maintaining a speed of 65 miles an hour. The total fuel and oil costs were only 0.8 of a penny a mile. ' <
