With the one exception, that the Pacific Handicap, for two-year-olds, has been replaced by. the Champion T\yo-year-old Plate, the programme of events for the Wellington Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, to. be held on Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18, is identical with last year's. It is pleasing to note that the club has seen its way to maintain its stakes, the total of £4330 offered for the two days being only £300 less than the sum distributed last year. • ,■•'. Pn°eF n .the„ eight races on the first day ±■-"90 is allocated, the same as last year. ■««!__.■• Stakes has been dropped £200 to £550, but the Champion Two-year-old Plate is worth £200 more than v- ?acific Handicap was. McEvedy.: The rvalue ot the trophy is .£l5O, v and to' this the club has added £300 in specie; The principal handicap event, the Thompson Handicap again carries £500, and. other races nave the same prizes as last year.
