BROKEN BYLAWS
Offenders against the bylaws were dealt with at the Magistrate's Court today and yesterday by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M. Cyril B. Lempriere and William H. Leach were fined £1 10s and £1 respectively for falling to give way at interJack 6'Keefe was fined^ £1 for not having a driver's licence. Sydney D. Reille was fined 10s, and Frederick R. Lane and Thomas E. Roberts were each convicted and ordered to pay costs for similar offences. Francis O'Keefe and George Hill were fined £2 and 10s respectively for negligent driving. For employing an unlicensed driver, Wong Shee was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Herbert Denham was fined £1 for failing to obtain a heavy traffic licence. Leaving a motor-car not under proper control cost John R. Gentry 10s. A fine of 5s was imposed on William G. Henley for permitting a chimney to catch fire. George E. Austin was convicted and ordered to pay costs on a similar charge. For not having a motor-car equipped with efficient brakes, Frederick R. Lane was convicted and discharged, •.. .
