Although the flrst portion of the deep depression mentioned yesterday has been crossing the Dominion during the night and a temporary southerly change occurred in the southern half of the South Island, pressure is still low to the west and winds have veered again everywhere to north-west. Gales have occurred at many places. Bain has fallen in western districts and tho high country south of Kawhia, but little or none in eastern or far northern district*. On the west coast of the South Island there have been some very heavy falls, aud some of tho rivers are in flood. Arthur's Pass reports 5.75 Inches. Thunderstorms occurred on the west coast and at Wellington. TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
