VETERANS' DAY

ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT

Once more unfavourable weather conditions have caused the veteran bowlers' gala day to-be postponed. The function was to have been held on the Wellington Club's greens to-day, but although the weather was fine the greens were very heavy after the rain last night and early this morning. Veterans' Day was originally set down for February 1, but on account of heavy rain it was postponed until February 3. The weather on that day was also unkind, and the gathering was postponed until February 6, when r^in again interfered with arrangements. A postponement being necessary, today was set aside for the holding of the fixture. So far the officials have not arranged another date for the function, but it will not be held this week. Last year the veteran bowlers qf Wellington were also unlucky so far as weather conditions were concerned, the gathering being postponed on two occasions.
