THE NAPIER TRAGEDY

NAPIER, This Day. The Marine Court gave its decision to-day as to the cause of the collision at the entrance of the in-,er harbour on 28th December, as the result of which ten waterside workers lost their lives. The Court held that the accident was due directly to the action of Mentzer, the helmsman of the launch Dons, m attempting to cross the bow of the Tv Atu.

The verdict of the inquest, which was held simultaneously with the inquiry was that the fatalities were due to drowning, the result of the collision.
