OTTAWA, 31st January. * The effect of the alteration in the United Kingdom Customs tariffs governing goods under the Empire preferential tariff from a requirement of 25 to 50 _ per cent. Empire content on Canadian exports is as yet unestimated. However, it might affect the • products of certain Canadian branches, of United States manufacturing concerns.
