SPORTING FIXTURES

During the. next two months some important sporting fixtures will be taking place in Wellington and in* other parts of the Dominion. Among these events there will be a number of national contests and the visit of the M.C.C. team, at present in Australia, ■will provide an international flavour so far as cricket is concerned. " :. 25th' February.—^Wellington provincial athletic championships; Wellington rowing regatta. 4th' March.—N.Z. rowing championsnip regatta, Wanganui. Sth March.—National rifle shooting meeting, Trentham. ....■:• 10th and 11th March.—N.Z. amateur athletic and track cycling championships, Christchurch. The M.C.C. team will be in New Zealand in. March and early April, and their programme will open with; a match' against Wellington on 21st and.22nd(March. Tests against New -Zealand will be played; at Christchureh and. at. Auckland. Although -the New Zealand' championships ara .over, some.interesting,.bowling fixtures remain. , One of these events so far as Wellington is concerned is the champ-ion of champions contest.
