JENKINS AT MASTERTON

The trainer of the Scottish Club, Mr. I. H. Holmes, writes to "The Post" as follows:— In your report on the Masterton athletic meeting o£ the 23rd instant, mention was made o£ the disappointing performances of C. Jenkins, of Wellington. As a visitor to the meeting, I would like to say that Jenkins ran up to expectations, but to have won either of the sprints it wouJd have been necessary for him to have broken the New Zealand records for the distances. His heat of the 100 yards was won iv 9 3-ssee, and the 120 yards in 11 3-ssec, and in each case Jenkins was just out of a place."
