Torrential rains, saiS to be the worst for thirty years, fell on Sunday night in the Kyogle and Inverell districts and caused many washouts and road dislocations. Thunderstorms continued throughout yesterday. A cloudburst at Inveroll flooded the lower parts of the town. Heavy rains in Central and West Queensland and scattered falls in the southern districts brought joy to the farmers, who are assured of good feed for the winter.

On the Darling Downs Tain caused damage to the Elphinstone Bridge, temporarily interrupting railway, traffic.
