Four people were drowned in South Australia's -worst surfing tragedy at Port Noarlunga to-day and seven others had remarkable escapes. A party was surfing near the entrance of the Onkaparinga River when huge waves and a strong undertow carried the bathers out. Life-savers and onlookers effected a gallant rescue. The dead are: Daphne Dodd, aged 10; Mavis Dodd, 14; C. Bowen, 25; Ray Kennedy, 23.
The father of the Dorld sisters rescued his third daughter and his son.
