"SEDDON LIBERALS"
NEW PARTY FORMED
A new political organisation, known as the Seddon Liberal Party of New Zealand, has beeii formed in Auckland, and it is stated that the movement Has also been initiated in. several southern centres (states the ''New Zealand Herald").
The general secretary (Mr. E. H. Sutherland) stated in Auckland that the time was not yet opportune- to disclose the names of those most prominently associated with the organisation, but an announcement would bo made shortly. Ho added, however, that no member of Parliament was connected with the movement.
At a meeting in Auckland of the executive and electoral representatives of the party from the adjacent districts the following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That this meeting of the executive and friends of the Seddon Liberal Party of New Zealand urges every member of Parliament to oppose to the last' ditch the passing of the Central Reserve Bank Bill, for the reason that we consider it to be the most dangerous piece of legislation ever promulgated in New Zealand." An address on banking and finance was given by Mr. A. Eeid.
Mr. John Dash, M.A., of the staff of the Palinerston North Boys' High School, has been appointed principal of the Hawera Technical High School ill succession to Mr. A. Gray, who has retired on superannuation, (states n Press Association message from Hawera).
