CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

' Lecturing again last night in the Town Hall, Mr. R. B. Schoiaeld pointed out that Christian Science took the Old Testament definition of God as "I Am" and coupled it with the terms Cause, Intelligence, Good, Life, and Love. This implied that God, one infinite Mind, was utterly free from conditions or limitations.

As a result of Mrs. Eddy's devotion to her life purpose, thousands had been lifted from the bondage' of sin, disease, and death. That disease was still so great a part of human experience was due to fear, ignorance, and sin. "In the treatment of sickness the Christian Scientist is really trying to obey the first Commandment," he said. "Both the Old Testament and the New give us every indication that organic disease must yield to the law of God just as readily as functional disease. There is in Christian Science no mystery, no secret. It is the very opposite of mesmerism, will-power, or strained and nervous concentration. It is just the simple and honest recognition of the First Commandment, that is, that there is but one cause, one power, one God, who is infinite Love."

The Korokoro Progressive League extends to residents an invitation to be present at the opening of the Korokoro Fire Station at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow. During the afternoon a fire brigade demonstration will be given, and in the evening a social will be held.
