(Eeceivetl 16th January, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 15th January. . .Captain Hope got away at 9 this morning, and is due at Basle at 1. He will begin the search in tho afternoon, if possible. A . ' A Basle message says that the airman Captain Hope arrived there. Captain Hope received: through the Air Ministry a telegram from a British tourist saying that while 7OoOft up a mountain near Morgins he saw an aeroplane flying east-south-east. It might have been Hinkler. The machine was apparently heading for Simplon. Captain Hope thinks that Mr. Hinkler lost his way and .possibly crashed into a mountain wall.
