SANDERS CUP

THE WELLINGTON CREW

The selection of the crew to man the Lavina, Wellington's representative in the Sanders Cup contest, which commences at Lytfcelton on Ist February, has now been completed. The regular skipper of the Lavina, N. Blair, will have charge of the bout, and his crew will consist 'of C. Hollis (mainsheet hand), K. Wilsson (spinnaker hand), and W. J. Martin (extra spinnaker hand), who have been sailing with him for the past four years; J. Shearer (heavyweight), who has sailed in the Lavina in the trials and at the Paremata Regatta during the past two years; and J. Coleman and J. Nolan, who are also local representatives selected for the Cbrnwell Cup contest. Both the latter will be at Lytteltbn in any case, and it will be convenient to have them available as ( lightweight 9. ' ' The Lavina's skipper and crew" will go south on 28th January, and will probably take the boat with them. They have been practising -steadily since their selection, and their arrival at Lyttelton on the Sunday before the racing commences will give them an opportunity of sailing ■ over the various courses.
