MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Cases at the Magistrate's Court -were dealt vnth to-day by Messrs. E. M. Wylie and H. H. Price, J.P.'s. fi Mjc%l 'Hearty, a clerk, aged 58, was nned. £2, m default fourteen days' imprisonment, for stealing a box of combs, valued at 15s, the property of Ross and Glendimng Ltd. Detectives McPhee and .Ueid found the accused celling combs at second-hand dealers' shopk He -ivas questioned and admitted stealing them. He was under the influence of liquor at the time. On a further charge "of drunkenness the accused was convicted and discharged. A further remand until Monday -was" granted in the cases of Eric George Pocock aged 25, and Lindsay Edist Edward Gamer, aged .23, who were jointly charged with stealing 8s 3d, the property of the New Zealand Government, and also with committing mischief. They were readmitted to bail. For delivering possession of a 22 rifle without the necessary authority Bruce Weggery was fined £1. An order was made confiscating the rifle. Arnold Arthur' Lynne, a seaman, aged 36, was remanded until Friday next on a | charge of stealing a bicycle valued at 355.
