MELBOUBNE, 20th December. Playing for the Sheffield Shield against Victoria (first innings 339), Queensland (first innings 126) in their second innings scored 74. Crook, not out 36, was top scorer. Ironmonger took seven wickets for 13 runs; Fleet-wood-Smith, one for 40; Alexander, one for 5. Queensland found Ironmonger, owing to his spin and accuracy, unplayable. Few hits were attempted off the veteran bowler, who covered himself with glory. Victoria won by an innings and 139 runs.
