■ (Original). One day a little fairy called Princess Beautiful was told by her mother'to stay home and mind the fairy dell. The Princess smiled a little *t thii and said,' "You should have * bi* heart, but I wonder if it's kindf" "Well," ho saia, '*I would like'to prove it to you. I know a little elf, not far from here, who would mend your wing for you." "Oh, please help me, for I have been disobedient to my mother and rudo to you." "I will tako you to the elf," answered the toad, "and get your wing mended. The elf wears funny clothes and a queer hat, but please don't laugh at them." Away they went, and had the win? mended. The elf was bo small, and looked bo funny,, that tho Princess nearly laughed, but he was clever. She could not thank him enough. The toad -told her to remomfcer the lesson she had learnt that day.
