YACHTING AT PAREMATA
The Parematii Club's races sailed during the week-end in a moderate southeasterly breeze resulted in close contests.
In the first-class event, the Kotuku, with Bill Ginders at the helm, scored a popular.win from the Queenie in a keenly contested race which developed into duets between tho Kotuku and Queenie off the ,4inin mark and the Peggy and Miss Josephine off scratch.
The Takapnna class race was another fine contest. The Nustar had her first win, beating tho field home by a good margin. Her skipper is obviously. improving, and will give the scratch boats some hard chasing to do before the season is finished. The "Wairoa was well sailed into second place, and Jack Coleman had hard luck in breaking his spinnaker boom early in the race. This class is now well established, and, with the keenness of the boys, is a big asset to'the club, although it has weakened the seeond-elass. The prospect of competition with the Plimmerton Club's boats will no doubt be of interest to the boys. .
The Tui gained her revenge in the second class, beating the lanthe comfortably. Too much weight appeared to be carried by the latter boat.
