Wethers,. l's to 7's, 4%d to 4%d; 3's, o's, 5'5,:3%d to 4%d. Ewes, l's, 7's, 3%d to 3%d; 3's, 9's, s's, 2%d to 3 l-Bd. Ox beef, hinds, 4d to 4%d; fores, 3d to 3%d. Ewes and wethers, market steady, demand slow, do not anticipate any decline in price. Beef, prices nominal.- Porkers, market firmer; still good supplies home-killed product being offered on market. .Baconers, market slow. Tallow, steady. Messrs. Best North Island crossbred lambs, 28-361b, 7d per lbditto, 3G-421b, Gd. North Island second quality lambs, average 30-311b, 5%d. Best North Island wether sheep, under 481b. 4%d; ditto, 48-561b, 4Ud; ditto, 56-641b, 1 l-8d; ditto,- 64-721b, 4d. North Island ewes, under 481b,.3 5-8 d; ditto, 48-561b, 3%d; ditto," 56-641b, 3 l-8d; ditto, 64-721b, 3d. New Zealand prime ox beef, 160-2201b, 3_3-Bd. Compared with last week's quotations, best crossbred lamb and second quality lamb %d per lb higher; best wethers, under 641b, l-8d per lb higher; 64-721b, %d per lb higher. Ewes, under 481b, l-8d per lb higher. Prime ox beef, 3-8 d per lb higher; others unchanged. The market is firm but quiet." The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business this week:—"The demand and prices for wether mutton are improving. The demand for. ewes is not quite so good The -market: is firm for lambs.
