DAIRY POSITION
BUTTER MARKET SLOW
(Received 28th October, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 27th October. The butter market is slow. Danish 116s to 118s per cwt; New Zealand, choicest salted, is very scarce at 106s per cwt. First grade 975; Australinn, choicest 90s to 975; -unsalted New Zealand 106s to 110s. Australian 97s to 100s. The cheese market remains firm. New Zealand white 60s per cwt; coloured 60s. Private advices received by cablegram supplementary to the above dispatch are briefly as follows:— Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., ■from Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, dated 26th October: —"New Zealand butter, finest 106s per cwt, first 965." Messrs. A. S. Paterson, from Messrs. J. G. Lonsdale and Co., London: "Butter market quiet, ,no demand and general unsettled state of trade with low Australian e.i.f. offers. Cheese firm owing small stocks. New Zealand white 675, coloured 645." Messrs. Dalgety's advice is: "Butter market weak; cheese market firm."
