Cuses at the Magistrate's Court were dealt with to-day by Mr. T. B. McNeil, S.M. A further rnmand until 30th November was granted in the case of Thomas R. Howell and a woman, whose name has been suppressed, who are jointly charged with stealing £152 Tie, the property of the Napier-Wellington Daily Transport Company. Lawrence Allan Marshall, a labourer, aged 64, was remanded for one week on a charge of assaulting James Patrick McGovern. It was stated that McGovern was in hospital. A fine of £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment, was imposed on Peter Malley, a labourer, aged 49, for his fourth offence of drunkenness.
