RETURN TO UNEMPLOYED'

James Horn, tho es-ILP., who has been closely connected with mining in Central Otago for many years and has made- a thorough investigation of the two Kawarau drives, states that gold could be seen lying in the wash like split peas. He is optimistic that the lead will prove to be of considerable depth as well as of good width. : " About SOO men arc engaged in mining in Central Otago under the Unemployment Board's scheme. It is now ascertained that during August and September these men sold to tho banks 600 ounces of gold valued at approximately £3600.
