EX-US. SECRETARY OF WAR

' At Seabright, New Jersey, Mr. LincTley Garrison, United States Secretary, of War under President .Woodrow Wilson, died suddenly, aged 68. Mr. Lindley Miller Garrison was Secretary of War in the Cabinet ot President Wilson from sth March', 1913, to 10th February, 1916, when he resigned and became a member of the' law firm, of Hornbiower, Miller, and Garrison, of New York. Mr. Garrison was born in 1864 and was a son of the Hey. Joseph F. Garrison, of Caniden, New Jersey. He was educated at the Protestant Episcopal Academy, Philadelphia, and at Phillips Exeter Academy, after which he wvnt to Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania, where he took his LL.B. He was. admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in. 18S6 and practised at Caniden, New Jersey, until 189S, when he became [senior member of the firm of Garrison, McMaims, and Enright, of New York City. In 1904 he became Viec-Chan-cellor of New Jersey, where he remained until called "to the Cabinet of Presi' dent Wilson. ' *
