LOGAN PARK IN THE WEST
At the Perth (W.A.) Royal Show on: 4th October, the mile State championship was won by the New Zealand-bred Logan Park in 2min JOsec. Trenaiid, another ex-New Zealander, was second, covering the distance in 2min 12 2-ssec. The event was decided in two heats and a final, with,, a flying start, ; The first heat was won easily by Logan Park, with Maori Princess second';aml Derby Rock third;, time, 2min 13 3-osec. The Eecond heat: went to' Trenand, who. scored by half a length from Desert' Bells, with . Arthur Royal third; time,, 2min .13 2-ss.ee.'''" In the final Logan Park made a runaway .race of it, winning easily; by thirty' yards from Trenand, with Desert: Bells third. -The time put up by Logan Park, 2miri lOsec, constitutes a race record for the State, as Kola Girl's record of-'2min 7 4-ssec at the Royal Show in 1923 was made against time with a galloping pacemaker.' This makes the third winning performance of the son of Logan Pointer—Miss Burlington sfnee b,eing transferred to Western Australia some months ago.
