CRIMINAL SESSIONS

Eleven criminal eases, -nith the possibility of one or two more being added, are set doivn for trial at the quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court in Wellington, which opeii on Tuesday morning. In six of the cases the charge is breakhi" and entering. Of the others, there is a charge o£ bookmaking, a chairge of assault •with intent to commit rape, a charge of uttering counterfeit coin, and a charge against a taxi-driver of being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor vehicle, thereby causing death. The criminal trials will be presided over by Mr. Justice MacGregor.
