PAREMATA BOATING CLUB

The annual general meeting of the Paremata Boating Club was held in the clubhouse on Saturday night. There was a large attendance. The report and balancesheet showed that the club had enjoyed a very successful year, and that its finances were in a sound condition.

Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—Patron, - Mr. F. Bradey; vice-patron, Mr. A. McKenzie; president, Mr. A. Smith; commodore, Mr. W. B. Ginders; vice-commodore, Mr. J. Shearer; hon. secretary, Mr. A. J. Young; hon. assistant secretary, Mr. E. Harding; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Corrin; handicapper, Mr. A. Shearer; starters and judges, Messrs. J. Burrows, M. Nicholson, F. W. France; hon. auditor, Mr. H. D. Morgan; general committee, Messrs.-A. Smith, D. McKenzie, J. Burrows, J. Burrows, jun., A. Sterling, F. W. France, G. Fisher.

A large number of vice-presidents were re-elected, Mr. T. Isbister being added to the list. The following new members were elected: Messrs. F. Saunders, H. Smith, and Bevan (2).

■ A lecture on "The Foreign Policy of Soviet Russia" will be given by Mr: John Reed in the Trades Hall at 8 o'clock tomorrow night, under the auspices of the Friends of the Soviet Union. Questions and discussion are invited.
