MOVE AT TE AROHA

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ........ TE AROHA, 10th October. The tinder-Secretary of the Mines Department, Mr. A. H. Kimbell, accompanied by several local departmental officers,/conferred to-day with a large number of prospectors and -others '-interested, in gold-mining in the Te Aroha hills. The conference was for,the purpose of clearing upa misunderstanding with regard to the Department's attitude toward an effort to bring about the, reVival of gold-mining in the district. ' ■ . Mr. •ESmbell undertook to have investigations made with a view to employing, if, .warranted, thirty or forty men, and outlined recommendations he was prepared to make which gave the measure of assistance required. Mr.'J. "W.'!Smith, mining supervisor, said there ;was a promising area on the west side of the mountain, but titles wefe',h'eld. for the best of ithese.
