H. M. MCGIRR'S APPOINTMENT

Although he is retiring from club cricket in Wellington^ VL ' 11. McGirir, who has been attached to the Hutt Cricket Club for some considerable time, will still take an active interest in the game. He has been appointed to a position as gf ounds-man-coach at Nelson College, and, according to advice from Nelson, it is expected that he.will take up his new duties next week. . McGirr has been one of the most popular figures in the game in New Zealand, and he has also been one of the most successful players. He has represented Wellington for many years and has played for New Zealand on numerous occasions. He was a member of the first New Zealand team to visit England.
