MOMENTOUS MEETING
(Times Cable.) ; (Received 30th August,. 1 p.m.) , - m LONDON, 29th August. "Tho Times" Berlin correspondent says that before departing for Neudeck lor his historic interview with President Hindouburg, Dr. yon Papen. and General yon Sehleicher met Herr Hitler at lunch and discussed the political situation, showing that even the extreme incivility of Hitler's recent references to the Chancellor have not destroyed all bridges. The meeting however,, left the parties of the same opinion. Dr. yon Papen is reported to have closed the discussions by informing .Herr Hitler that it was too. late to consider his proposals, which is interpreted t» mean that the door as closed to prospects of Herr Hitler participating in the Government. Dr. yon Papen is still expected to request President Hindenburg's authority to dissolve the Reichstag.
