THE LATE JAMES TAYLOR
The sympathy felt by the Wellington Eugby Football Union's Management Committee for the widow of the late' Mr. J. Taylor was expressed at the weekly • meeting, last night by the chairman, Mr.-J. Prenfleville. The "game locally, said Mr. Prendeville, had suffered a great loss by the sudden death of on© of its most enthusiastic followers, one who had: done invaluable work in training young players/ not only in the actual playing of the game, bur as regards the spirit of sportsmanship, in which he had set them a fine example. He had long been connected with Eugby in Wellington, and in later years.had been, a prominent member of the Poneke Club, of which,;at the time of his death, he was captain. The committee passed a motion of condolence in. silence. • ,
At Mr. Taylor's funeral on Sunday, Mr. P.Fraser represented the LabouParty, and Mrs.' Mitchell ■ and Mrs. Thomas the women's branch of the Labour Party. .
