MOTOR-CAR HITS POLE

Telephonic communication was interfered with temporarily in Kelburn this morning as the result of a pole near the corner of Upland crescent and Upland road being struck by a motorcar. The accident occurred about 6 a.m., the pole, a totara one, being smashed into three pieces and the car being badly damaged! No one was injured. Some months ago a pole on the opposite side of this intersection also suffered as a result of a car running into it, and recently the notice-board of St. Michael and All Angels' Church nearby ■was smashed by a motor-cyclist. ■
