RUGBY, 11th August. E. H. Tenime, a London clerk, who five years ago swam from France to Dover in 14 hours 29 minutes, entered the water at Dover this morning on an attempt to swim to Franco.

Miss Lowry, a Manchester girl, who started a Channel swim from Shakospeare Beach, Dover, yesterday afternoon, abandoned the attempt this morning when within four miles ot Cape Gris Nez, France.
