IRISH VOLUNTEERS
DEFENCE OF CONSTITUTION
FOR LAW AND. ORDER
LONDON, 12th August. Tho Dublin correspondent of "The Times" says that tho Irish Tree State Army Comrades' Association, comprising former members of the Free State Army, has issued an appeal for volunteers to assist in defending the Constitution. The association says in its appeal that it would always support a lawfully constituted Government, but is opposed to Communism. It regards as extremely dangerous the new fashion of branding as traitors certain public men. It will resist attempts to interforo with free speech, and will stand by comrades marked down for persecution and attack. The association regrets the present Executive's tolerance- of, the presence of arms in the couutryin defiance of the law.
