CHANGE COMING

THE WEATHER PROSPECTS

The weather has been fair to line in most districts. A few scattered coastal showers have fallen between Cook Strait and East Cape. At 9 o'clock this morning showers wore still reported at the latter place, but over the.rest of the Dominion it was brilliantly fine. The night was again very cold, with many frosts. All the chief stations experienced fino weather yesterday, and at Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin there wore heavy frosts last night.

The forecast is for variable winds, with north-easterly to northerly prevailing, and gradually freshening. The weather is likely to be fine generally at first, with temperatures becoming milder. Unsettled conditions may gradually develop to-morrow in northern and western districts. There is a prospect of fairly general rain in the early part of the week.
