CONFLICT REPORTED
(Received 13th August, 2 p.m.)"
CALCUTTA, 12th August. Anxiety is felt in Lhasa, capital, of Tibet, regarding heavy fighting reported between Chinese and Tibetan, force* oh the borders of the Szechuen Province. The trouble is a perennial legacy from the failure of the tripartite "conference between Britain, Tibet, ana China in 1914 to reach a final settlement of the dispute between Tibet and China regarding the claims 'of both to administer a portion of what was formerly Tibetan territory.
