LONDON, Ist August.

The August Bank Holiday was largely spoilt for Londoners by a storm of remarkable fierceness, with blinding lightning and torrents of rain. Considerable damage was- done and a man was killed by lightning while sheltering under a tree during a cricket match at Twickenham.
