H.M.S. DUNEDIN-S OFFICERS
Captain M.J. O. de Meric, who brought H.M.S. Diomede to New; Zealand after her refit in England- in 1930, commanded H.M.S. Dunedin on the' voyage to New Zealand. C, ' I'enton, Pay-master-Lieutenant J., G... Bennett; Sur-geoa-Coramander J. E, Clark; SubJUieutenant B. Walford; Commissioned Gunners W. Paige and R. H. Shipcott; Gunner E. J. Wattß; Warrant-Engineers F. I. Sharman and J. H. Longnian; Schoolmaster I. D. Lawrence; WarrantShipwright S. H. Tozer, /:..... . Gunner W. B. Burns and Warrant-En-gineer A. J. Lee, who were commissioned tor duty on the voyage of the Dunedin, transferred to H.M.S. Philomel on arrival at Auckland. ', '
-Most of the ships of the New Zealand Division of the Royal' Navy are, absent from the Auckland base. The flagship, the Diomede, sailed on an island cruise on 28th June, and af*er visiting-a number of the groups of the Eastern Pacific is expected at Suva on Thursday. Bishop Kempthorne; the Bishop of Polynesia, joined tho Diomede at Nukualofa for the purpose of visiting a number of the islands of his widespread diocese; The Diomede will return to Auckland on 26th August, x. w.v-: ."■'■ ■:':. / '-■ '■'■}.■'. .'.,'; The two sloops Laburnum, and Yeronica are also cruising in the South' Pacific', and are not, expected: to return to: the base until; September.
