FROM GASBAG'S SISTER
PACERS AND TROTTERS
Gold Mag,- who won the Maiden Three-year-old Race at Rosebill on Saturday, and the Kogarah Stakes at Moorsfield yesterday, js the now four-year-old Magpie—Kaahamanu brown gelding whom Mr. J. Hennah took over to Sydney about three weeks ago. They were his first starts on Australian soil, and were a good auspice for further success.
Although bred in Australia, Gold Mag has.a full- New' Zealand maternal pedigree, as'his dam, Kaahamanu, is a younger lull-fister to' Gasbag, being by Demosthenes from Lady Celia, by Gold Reef, and descending from the Ouida taproot. Kaabamanu raced for: three years in the Dominion before being sent across to the stud ,in Australia, and she was a winner of a.. minor ovent at Hastings in 1925. Mr. Hennah,iy breeding from her ia-Aus-' tralia, arid some others of her' progeny will probably make their appearance later on. Gold Mag was well spoken of from Hastings early last season, but in the Do* minion he had five fruitless starts. It is aid that his wind is not too good.
