TROUBLE AT RUGBY MATCH
'Scenes, fortunately rare, were seen at the conclusion of the Mirama'r-Marist game on Saturday, "when a crowd'of about two hundred people surrounded the players "and the referee as they were leaving the field and demonstrated vigorously. The trouble started in the closing stages of the game, when a jMiramar player was ordered off the field. A small section of the Miramar supporters apparently disagreed with the referee's action, and when the game ended there was a rush to follow the Miramar player back ou to the field. Going up to a Marist man, the Miramar player immediately opened out with both hands and a section of the crowd became very excited. There were cries of "Form a ring," and "Let them have a fair 'go,' " but wiser counsels prevailed, and the players were separated. The crowd followed the players to the dressing shed, but by this time the heat had gone out of tlie affair, the crowd gradually dispersed, and there was no further interference with the players.
