CINDERELLA BALL
FOR MAYOR'S DISTRESS FUXD,
Very satisfactory progress is being inada for the Cinderella ball which is being or« ganised for Bth September in aid of th« Distress Fund. Said the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) to-day: The" Town Hall will be transformed into a medieval castla —an appropriate setting for Prince Charming, his court, and the many hundred dancers who will be present. Something unique has been planned for the lighting o£ the hall, and many colourful novelties will be introduced. An elaborate supper will be provided. From present indications the Cinderella ball promises to ba one of the most dazzling functions ever held in the Town Hall. It will be a blaze of revelry and glittering colour. Many1, fancy-dress parties have already been-ar-ranged,, and ..the fact ; that prizes will bei awarded for the best fancy costumes cost'ing not more than 2os has fostered a lively spirit of friendly rivalry. Every pennysubscribed for ball tickets will go direct to the Mayor's Distress Fund, as everything for- the ball is being generously pr6> vided by many'Wellington busiuess houses and citizens.;"-"" -"■-■'< .."•"■"■::". *
