SEVEN MORE PLAYERS

TWO INDIANS IN SIDE

United Press Association—By Electric Tele-

graph—Copyright.

(Received 30th July, 1.30 p.m.)

LONDON, 29th July. It is announced'officially that seven more players have been invited to go to Australia and New Zealand with the M.C.C. team. This brings the total of selected players to thirteen. There are three more players to be selected, and their selection will be announced later.

The latest to bo invited to make the

tour are:—

B t W. V. Bobins (Middlesex). F. B. Brown (Surrey). B. E. S. Wyatt (Warwickshire* The Nawab of Pataudi (Worcestershire). G. 0. Allen (Middlesex). H. Larwood .(Nottinghamshire).' W. .Voco (Nottinghamshire).

Tho capacity of the side might be summarised as powerful in battine, i fielding, and wicket-keeping, somewhat problematical,.but potentially good in bowling, and sound and orthodox, if uninspiring, in leadership. - , The Nawab of Pataudi, Wyatt, Allen, vocc, Brown, and Bobins are unknown on Australian grounds. Brown, who is twonty-ono years of age, is strongly built, cheerful, red-haired, and temperamentally suitable for big cricket. There could never haye been much doubt about [thoNawab of^Pataudi's selection ,on the i grounds of sheer merit,1 but the sentimental objection to two Indians 5n the team is overridden by the slender Isawab's great batting form. "The choice of Allen is a very wise one especially in view- of his Irostile bowling and good batting and fielding, and also on account of the liability of Larwood breaking down. • Already seven amateurs have' been included in the side, and there may be still another. • ■

The - six players previously chosen for the tour are:—

D. E. Jardino (Surrey), captain. H. Sutcliffe-' (Yorkshire). K. S. Duleepsinhji (Sussex). ■> W. R. Hammond (Gloucestershire). L. Ames (Kent). v , G. Duckworth (Lancashire). Evidently the Test trial at Cardiff was a."wash out," as-there'is no report of any play having taken place on the second and third days Bnwlinir for The Best. Mitchell tool twoS °tf for 47 runs and Larwood! one for 34,
