PAITONU'S HALF-SISTER

Tangiroa, second tOjjPango. in the Closeburn Hack Flying Handicap nt the Rnngitikei Hunt Meeting on Wednesday, and winner of the Sprmgrove Farewell Handicap three races later, has made occasional appearances during the past couple of seasons, but these were the first occasions on which she had collected any of the stake-mouey. She is a six-year-old bay mare by Potoa from the Jingle mare Monaghan, who descends from a New South Wales mare i. .ported in the 'sixties by an officer of a British regiment stationed in Auckland without a pedigree, and who has left other useful performers in recent years in Paitonu, Moneogne, and Monalof. She was bred by Mr. P. Tito, and is raced by Mr. K. Tito, the owner of Paitonu. She does not stay too well, but appears to be improving in this respect in her latest racing.
