BLENHEIM LAND CASE

The Court of 'Appeal yesterday, in a reserved decision, upheld the judgment of the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in a caso in which Charles Magnus Petterson r farmer, of Blenheim, appealed as a pauper in respect of three actions heard in the Supreme Court at Blenheim. The respondents were Andrew Duncan, land broker, and Douglas Linwood Duncan, clerk. The three actions aroso out of an agreement by which D. L. Duncan agreed to sell and Pettorson to purchase land in the district of Wairau West for £5800. In the action taken by the Duncans against Petterson tho Chief Justice gave judgment for the plaintiffs for £680 9s, with costs. £70 11s. The Court of Appeal consisted of Mr. Justice Reed, Mr. Justice Adams, Mr. Justice ' Ostler, and Mr. Justice Smith. The appeal was dismissed, out a» the appellant was a pauper, following the usual practice, without costs.
